It is said mountainous region in the world because 15% of the total area of Nepal is covered by a mountain which varies from 4877m to 8848m high. It is further divided into three main regions which are (Main Himalaya), (Inner Himalaya) and (Marginal Himalaya).
Ø Main Himalaya: These mountains are taller than 5000 m. which are kumbhakarna, Khumbu, Mahalangur, Rolwaling Ganesh, Gorkha, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri,Kangirowa, Api, Saipaal.
Sagarmatha(8848m), Kanchanjangha(8586m), Lothse(8516m), Makalu(8464m), Dhaulagiri(8167m), Manaslu(8163m), Cho Oyu(8201m)& Annapurna(8091m) is the 8 mountains which are listed in the world tallest mountains list out of 10 mountains.
Ø Inner Himalaya: It is a mountain valley covered by the main mountain in the north and tibbatian boundary in the south. It is also said as Bhote provision. It varies from the height of 2400 m. to 5000 m. which consists Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Thakkhola, Manang, Kutang, Kerung, Rungshar, Khumbu, etc where Tamang caste lives.
Ø Marginal Himalaya: Guras, Nalankar, Chandi, Gorakh, Kaanti, Gautam, Mustang, etc, are the mid-range mountain which are located in the north of main Himalaya and south of tibbat (30km-45km wide). Kodari, Rasuwa, Mustang are the passes that are also located In this region.
